LP2844 Label Printer Overview
The Zebra LP2844 thermal label printer is a good addition to any electronics lab. It is really easy to print labels for component drawers and projects. It is a 4″ model that can print shipping labels too, great for Ebay. The 203DPI print head is adequate to print labels, although there is some blockiness to them.
I use LaTex to print labels using the geometry package to change the page size. The code for this can be found here.

In this video I teardown the printer to see what is inside. I also go through the installation steps for Linux Mint KDE 17.1. At the end of the video, I do a quick demonstration.

Do you have instructions on how to replace the lid?
I have a unit with a cracked dome and need to replace the lid.
Thanks
Chad
Hey Chad,
Take a look at the service manual for instructions on how to replace the lid. http://support.epostraders.co.uk/support-files/documents/26/KZW-2824_ServiceManual.pdf
